Get Up Jack is a joyous retro-romp by six of the most energetic and charismatic performers in Irish music today. Their soaring vocals and enthusiastic performances have drawn comparisons to the old-school groups of their youth (like The Dubliners, The Clancy Brothers, and The Wolfe Tones), yet it is their own unique instrumentation, style, and delivery that makes them a one-of-a-kind experience. Don’t miss your opportunity to see them live at Brown’s Revolution Hall in Troy, NY on Friday, March 17 at 8 pm (doors open at 7 pm). 21 + show only. Tickets are $15 ($18 at the door). Purchase tickets online or at the Troy and Walloomsac Taprooms beginning on 2/17.

Hot Club of Saratoga, the area’s premier gypsy swing ensemble (and a Walloomsac Taproom favorite), plays a repertoire that reflects the spirit and style originated by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in The Quintet of the Hot Club of France most prominent in the 1930s and kept alive through a long line of gypsy jazz artists since that time. The driving rhythms under dynamic soloing give the music a life and vibrancy sure to bring a smile and often an irresistible desire to move. Catch them from 6:30 to 9 pm on February 25 in the Walloomsac Taproom!

Cradle Switch, a four-piece acoustic Americana group based in Cambridge, NY, will perform in the Walloomsac Taproom in Hoosick Falls on Sunday, February 26 from noon to 3 pm. Tunes include originals and a range of songs drawing from bluegrass, country, folk and a little blues. Singer-songwriters Ferrilyn Sourdiffe and Dave Lawlor swap out guitars for banjo and mandolin, and Kate Ritter brings it on the fiddle, along with some angelic vocal harmonies to add to Ferrilyn and Dave’s robust vocals. David Norman throws in some percussion and has been known to wear his special washboard tie to gigs. On occasion, fellow lyricist Chip Macdonald shows up to add a little rhythm on his lobster pot. The group performs throughout southwestern Vermont and upstate New York.

Since 1993, Brown’s has crafted its own revolution, and this year (our 24th!) we are realizing a dream we’ve been working hard to achieve. We will switch from bottles to cans, and in doing so provide our fans with many more styles at retail than ever before! The cans, beautifully designed by our Troy neighbors id29, contain liquid tested by all of you, our loyal hero patrons. Putting our liquid in a can is a dream come true for us, but ultimately we’re doing it for you. Join us starting at 12 pm at our Walloomsac Taproom and Brewery for samples of our freshly canned beer (Oatmeal Stout, Cherry Razz, Coast-to-Coast IPA, and our new Vienna Lager). Stay for a special menu and music.
