Engaging, dark, and bold, our ever popular ode to the classic English Stout earned Brown’s the prestigious gold medal at the World Beer Cup but that hasn’t prevented us from refining our Oatmeal Stout over the years to be even more of a rich and silky smooth glass of pure deliciousness. Join us from 4 to 8 pm on our Troy Taproom deck as we raise a pint to this flagship nearing 25 years of delighting stout drinkers. Garrett Oliver, in the July 2017 issue of All About Beer, described Oatmeal Stout as “Exceedingly well done and very drinkable; I counsel oysters.” And so we will serve oysters. And Oatmeal Stout and root beer floats, plus so much more. Dress warm!

The third annual Farm to Canvas art lottery at Brown’s Walloomsac Taproom will feature a carefully curated selection of art works donated from artists and private and corporate collections. The Farm to Canvas lottery is a drawing where each ticket sold is numbered and secretly matched in advance to a work of art. Beginning at 7 pm, each painting’s number is revealed one by one, and each lucky ticket holder then receives an original work of art to take home from the generous ensemble of donors. Individual Farm to Canvas attendees may purchase one ticket ($48) for the art lottery on that evening only, beginning at 6 pm. The number of participating artists will determine the number of art lottery tickets sold. Farm to Canvas artworks may be previewed in Brown’s Walloomsac Taproom beginning on October 25. Proceeds from Farm to Canvas benefit CiviCure (Civic and Cultural Restoration) of Hoosick Falls. CiviCure’s plan calls for renovation of the currently vacant second and third floors of Wood Block with gallery and performance spaces in its mission to use art and cultural events to build ties and promote economic revitalization in the community and throughout the region.
