Brewery

We are seeking a brewer for brewing operations in both Walloomsac and Troy Breweries.

If you’re into craft beer, reliable, and have a desire to love where you work, join us! 

The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic committed to building and representing the Brown’s Brewing Company brand and endeavors.

Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Primary duties include daily production functions in the brewhouse, cellar, and packaging.

Reports to: Head Brewer/Senior Management/Ownership

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS 

• Proficient in all areas of brewing/cellaring packaging /racking production

• Complete the brewing process safely and efficiently. This includes, but is not limited to; milling, mashing, lautering, wort boiling, and transferring to the fermenter

• Maintaining the use of Brown’s standard operating procedures

• Monitor pitch and evaluate yeast as needed

• Monitor gravities, temperatures, and carbonations

• Keep track of supply of raw materials and other inventory items

• Remain curious and stay current with developing beer styles around the world. Participate in weekly sensory program. 

• Work towards improving on brewery standard operating procedures (SOPs)

• Participate in Brown’s Brewing Company internal/external promotions, off-site beer festivals, and events as needed

• Experience in brewing operations a plus

• Proficiency with spreadsheets, mobile applications, and technology

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

• Tobacco and Drug Free

• Reliable transportation for work

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to perform fine manipulation and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently

• Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces 

• Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat) (Both breweries are along rivers)

• Must be able to work in hot, cold, and wet environments

• Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside and frequently lift 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.

• Must be able to use a ladder, i.e., work at heights of 10+’ above grade
