Terra
Terra is one of our favorite yearly releases and features a mixed fermentation wheat forward beer, aged in French oak barrels for six months. We then further age the beer cabernet sauvignon juice until it tastes right to us. While quite complex, this year's blend took a little over a year to get to that point. This year's batch is less acidic and funky than in years past, with a more focused approach toward a fruity, balanced sipper. Look for notes of cherry and black currant with an underlying hint of "farmhouse" character from the brettanomyces.
Terra was awarded best non-whiskey barrel aged beer in the Mid-Atlantic by the US Beer Tasting Competition. “A high-octane sour beer that still does a great job balancing the alcohol, red wine, oak, and sour notes.
